If you want to replace bathroom tiles, you should pay attention to the floor.

There are endless flooring ideas to choose from, but the two most important factors to take into consideration are: safety and cleanliness. Water resistant, plus it should be easy to clean.

Ceramic Tiles:

One of the most common bathroom floors is ceramic, since it is durable and hygienic. If you have a small bathroom space, ceramic will be the perfect solution since it creates the illusion of more space. These tiles are stainless, water resistant and easy to clean. It also has a wide variety of colors, shapes, sizes and textures.  The downsides are: it can be slippery and it is subject to mold.

Vinyl Flooring:

Is waterproof, durable, easy to maintain and hypoallergenic.

Hardwood flooring:

Is a very popular choice to use around the house and bathroom is no exceptional. Wood floors can work pretty well in the bathroom with couple precautions to protect it from moisture. It can also be periodically refinished (it can be achieved by using couple of oil based polyurethane layers). Installing a vent in the bathroom will also keep humidity away from the wood flooring.

Wood flooring adds warmth inviting look to the bathroom.

Bamboo and cork flooring:

If you are looking for a “green” bathroom flooring option, bamboo or cork will be the perfect solution for you. These materials are resistant to mold and bacteria and both repel moisture.

Bamboo flooring looks similar to wood floors but is more durable.

Cork flooring offers warmth feel to bare feet.

Few more bathroom flooring options to consider:

Concrete may be the solution for homeowners who want the posh look , while being durable and easy to maintain. Many bathrooms have a layer of concrete underneath the existing floor, this concrete can be restored into new stone look floor.

Pebble tiles can give a Zen feel to your bathroom. Pebble flooring look like a floor made of beach pebble.
